Taking IMACS classes from a young age instilled in me the habit of inquiry and a drive to understand why things work the way they do. I learned how to learn, which helps me solve problems in all aspects of life.
Azzara Nincevic from IMACS in 1st Grade to University of Toronto!
Azzara attended IMACS classes every year from 1st through 12th grade, including Math Enrichment , Computer Enrichment , Hi-Tech Summer Camp , AP Computer Science: Java Programming , and university-level courses in Computer Science and Logic for Mathematics . She graduated high school with a 5.6 GPA and scored 36 on the ACT and 1580 on the SAT. Azzara earned the AP International Diploma and was named a National AP Scholar after scoring 5’s on 14 AP exams, as well as 4’s on four more.
Azzara is no stranger to competition. She held leadership roles on her high school’s FIRST Robotics team, which placed 6th in the Turing Division at the 2019 Houston World Championships. She won the Best Delegate award at the 2019 North American Invitational Model UN conference and was a selected speaker at the National High School Model UN conference. Azzara is also an accomplished artist, having earned a Gold Key for Drawing in the 2017 Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
Azzara was accepted at the University of Toronto, Oxford University, University of Michigan, Vanderbilt, Boston University, Rochester Institute of Technology, UC Irvine, University of Florida, and Fordham. She chose the University of Toronto where she plans to study Chemical Engineering with a minor in Bioengineering, followed by a career in either biomaterials research or the energy sciences industry.
